We are currently engage in the building of the Can Tho Bridge. This is one of the major bridge being built in the Mekong Delta by a consortium of international builders VSL. We provide concrete pumping service using our trailer-mounted concrete pumping model S85 with a pumping capacity of 90m3 per hour, a vertical reach of 140 meters and a horizontal reach of 520 meters.
These pictures showed that we are capable of providing an efficient work force with high technology equipment in major infra-structure developments such as bridge building and hydro-power projects in Vietnam.
How to impress the German, French and Japanese engineers in Vietnam?
A large bridge was being built across the river Hau Giang in the Province of Can Tho, South Vietnam. A Japanese Construction and Engineering Firm called TKN was the main Contractor responsible for the building of this new bridge. The Sub-Contractor – a French Construction and Engineering Firm called VSL was responsible for the provision of concrete and concrete pumping services.
The Construction Manager of VSL was Mr. Josef Silbernagel - a German engineer, he approaches VPS to rent two (2) concrete Pumps (one operating and one on standby) including a team of professional personnel to operate the pumps. VPS agreed to strict requirements as set out by VSL such as:
• Minimum concrete pumping capacity: 90 cubic meters per hour. • Minimum vertical pumping capacity: 100 meters. • Minimum horizontal pumping capacity: 400 meters • Pumping requirements: Ability to pump concrete through various bends in both vertical and horizontal directions. • Concrete cleaning system: Water to be used and pump through the concrete pipes as a cleaning method for all concrete pipes after each pumping service.
VPS provided a Trailer Mounted Concrete Pump model S85 including a team of seven highly trained and skilled personnel to operate the pump. VPS worked closely with VSL to ensure that the concrete pump meets the required technical standards, ensure that VPS pump operators are highly skilled and professional in setting up the concrete pipes, and to ensure that VPS personnel meet on-site international construction safety standards.
VPS provided various concrete pumping tests as per TKN and VSL’s requirements. Concrete was pumped through various bends in both vertical and horizontal directions. VPS also successfully tested its water cleaning system for all the concrete pipes being used for each test.
Eventually, after one month of tests under various conditions, VPS was ready to pump concrete directly onto the Can Tho Bridge – South pylon. Our first REAL concrete pumping service on 18th April 2007 was a resounding success. We pumped 220 cubic meters of concrete onto the bridge’s South pylon. Concrete was pumped through various bends, through 200 meters of horizontal pipes and 35 meters of vertical pipes. The Construction Manager of VSL – Mr. Josep Silbernagel called VPS immediately to congratulate VPS on the quality and capacity of the trailer mounted concrete pump, he also congratulates VPS on a magnificent service provided by our on-site team of professional personnel.
This is a success story of Vinacrete Pumping Systems (VPS) in its concrete pumping services in Vietnam. It has achieved and succeeded in meeting various requirements from international construction and engineering companies, such as the Japanese firm TKN, the French firm VSL and finally, a German engineer.
